For many years, Türkiye has been providing scholarship opportunities to international students and researchers from all over the world. Higher education scholarship programs provided by Turkey were branded as “Türkiye Scholarships” in 2012. Türkiye Scholarships is considered to be the most comprehensive and competitive scholarships in the world with many possibilities which provide international students with the opportunity to pursue their study and experience new life in Türkiye.
It is a government-funded higher education scholarship program runned by the Republic of Türkiye for international students. The primary purpose of Türkiye Scholarships is to provide equal opportunities to successful students around the world in order to receive them.
What does the scholarship cover?
The successful candidate will receive the following benefits:
- University and Department Placement
- Monthly Stipend Undergraduate: 1000 TL, Master’s: 1400 TL, PhD: 1800 TL
- Tuition Fee
- Turkish Language Course for 1 Year before the academic activity
- Accommodation
- Health Insurance

What are the type of scholarship offered?
There are three types of scholarship programs available, namely:
- Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Program: which offers several study programs at Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral levels among with all the benefits listed above.
- Art Scholarship Program: that provides scholarships to international students at the undergraduate, master’s and PhD levels in the fields of musical sciences, performing arts and fine arts at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University.
- Merit Scholarship Program: in which the participant will be rewarded with monthly stipend 2 times higher than the regular program type, based on their academic performance, achievement and merits.

Document required
After creating their online account on the application systems, participants are required to upload the required documents which consist of:
- A valid identity document, ID card or passport
- A photograph of the candidate taken within the last 1 year
- National exam results (if any)
- Diploma or temporary graduation certificate
- Academic Transcript
- Motivation Letter
- International exam results (GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc.) if required by the chosen university or program
- International language test results such as TOEFL, DELF if required by the chosen university or program
- A proposal for a research topic and a written example of the research you have carried out (only for PhD applications)
Eligibility Criteria:
The general eligibility criteria for every scholarship program is that the candidate must not be an existing or ex-citizen of Turkey.
But For Undergraduate programs, students below 21 years with at least a 70% score are eligible. Similarly, for the Master’s degree, the age limit is 30 years, while for Ph.D., it is 35 years. Older than these age limits cannot apply for the scholarship. However, the average score must be 75% to become eligible for the Masters and Ph.D. programs.
The universities of Turkey have made a name in the world because of quality education and affordable tuition fees. Meanwhile, these universities are also offering various Turkey Scholarships funded by the Turkish Government in different disciplines. All international students can apply for these scholarship programs to complete their Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees and short and research courses. But it is mandatory to apply for the scholarship program within the due date to avoid any loopholes in your selection process.
All Türkiye Scholarships awardees who do not possess C1 Level Certificate for Turkish Proficiency (including those who are placed into English or other language medium programs) must attend 1-year Turkish Language Course and attain the C1 Level Certificate by the end of their academic year.

- Upload all required documents. It will also be beneficial for you to include your extracurricular activities and achievements in different fields
- List your dream university and program preferences
- Write an original letter of intent explaining your preferences, expectations and goals for the future (Motivation Letter)
- After reviewing all the stages and documents, approve your application.
Applications can be made in eight languages: Turkish, French, Arabic, English, Farsi, Russian, Bosnian, and Spanish.
