ANSO Fully funded Scholarship for young talents 2024 in China

Science and technology have an undeniable and profound impact on contemporary life. These twin forces drive progress and innovation across various fields, from healthcare to communication, transportation to entertainment. The advancements in science have improved our understanding of the world and the universe, leading to breakthroughs in medicine, energy, and environmental conservation. Meanwhile, technology has transformed the way we live and work, enabling instant global communication, automation, and the development of smart devices that enhance our daily experiences. The fusion of science and technology is at the heart of modern society, continually reshaping our world and offering new possibilities for the future.

In order to contribute and take part in the possibilities of changes and development, the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents was formally launched in 2019 with the goal of training and cultivating young scientists from all over the world. ANSO, also known as The Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) is a non-profit, non-governmental international organization founded in 2018. Founding members include 37 scientific institutions, universities, and international organizations worldwide. ANSO aims to improve regional and global capacity in science and technology, human livelihoods and wellbeing, and to promote broader Science and Technology cooperation and communication.

Initially, ANSO Scholarship was launched in 2019. The ANSO Scholarship supports 200 Master’s students and 300 PhD students every year to pursue postgraduate education at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) or institutes of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) around China. A sub-category of the ANSO Scholarship: the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship (The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries) was officially launched in year 2022. Echoing the priority of TWAS/UNESCO, special (not exclusive) consideration will be given to two target groups: Least Development Countries (LDCs) and women. Up to 50 PhD students from developing countries will be selected by TWAS/UNESCO into this category every year.

CAS, as the foremost founding member of ANSO, assumes a pivotal role in the substantial sponsorship of the ANSO Scholarship program. Concomitantly, TWAS and UNESCO, equally esteemed founding members of ANSO, actively contribute a substantial portion of the financial backing for recipients of the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship. It is noteworthy that ANSO extends an open invitation to all its members and potential collaborators who share a vested interest in fostering the development of a more multifaceted and inclusive scholarship initiative. Together, these distinguished institutions aim to broaden the horizons of scholarship opportunities and foster greater diversity in educational pursuits.
