Eligibility Criteria

Applicants interested in the program should meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Applicants must meet the requirements of the repective programs they are applying for.
  • Educational background and age limits (as of September of the academic year):
    • Bachelor's Programs: be an academically excellent holder of high school diploma or its equivalent under the age of 25;
    • Master's Programs: be an academically excellent holder of a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent under the age of 35;
    • Doctoral Programs: be an academically excellent holder of a Master's degree or its equivalent under the age of 40;
  • Chinese Government Scholarship awardees are not allowed to accept any other scholarships (except one-time bonuses) sponsored by Chinese governments of different levels, as well as the admission colleges and universities at the same time.

The Scholarships Application Form should be completed in Chinese or English and signed by the applicant.
  2. Applicants shall complete another online application at http://application.xmu.edu.cn and upload the scan copy of Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarships.
  3. Chinese Government Scholarship applicants for postgraduate programs should acquire the pre-acceptance letter signed by the supervisor and stamped by the college and upload it to the XMU application system for international students (http://application.xmu.edu.cn) and Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn).
