Selected fellows will receive a competitive salary of 1,575,000 DKK for the entire duration of the PhD, along with an additional project supplement of 750,000 DKK. The program will also fully cover tuition fees, which amount to approximately 240,000 DKK.

There are no predefined thematic preferences in the Open Fellowships Call. Eligible scientific areas include fundamental and applied research across:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to applicants from all nationalities.
  • Candidates must be eligible for admission to a PhD program in Denmark.
  • Applicants must secure a formal agreement with a principal supervisor who holds a position as a professor, associate professor, or equivalent at a recognized research institution within the Kingdom of Denmark.
  • Each principal supervisor may only supervise one PhD fellow funded by DARA.
  • Applicants must not be currently enrolled in or have already commenced a PhD program.
