What will you study?

The curriculum is intense and rewarding, combining seminars organized by the UN with the public international law session at The Hague Academy of International Law. Core topics include:

  • Human Rights & Humanitarian Law: International human rights, humanitarian, and criminal law.
  • Global Governance: Treaty law, international responsibility, and diplomatic/consular relations.

Eligibility Criteria

This fellowship is highly competitive and aimed at professionals who already have a solid foundation in the field.

  • Nationality: Open to professionals from developing countries and countries with emerging economies.
  • Education & Experience: You must have a legal background with practical professional experience in international law. (Note: Current students are generally not eligible).
  • Language: For 2026, the program is conducted in English. You must be fluent in spoken and written English and provide valid certification if it is not your mother tongue.
  • Commitment: You must certify that you can attend the entirety of the program (no exceptions!).
