Full scholarship for African Students

The Government of Mauritius offers full funded scholarships for a maximum of 4 years program to African students which are resident citizens of member states of the African Union or of Commonwealth.

What does the scholarship covers?

  • A monthly living allowance, but student are required to have sufficient fund for the initial phase of their stay in Mauritius.
  • The tuition fees
  • A flight ticket from and to their origin country. As mentioned on the guidelines of applicants, section 5.1.6, awardee student will get a free return ticket to the origin country, but for the one-way ticket from origin country, student have to pay the fee by their own and must apply for refund once arrival in Mauritius by providing the necessary original receipts and documentation.

What are the requirements?

  • Applicants must be able to speak and understand English and must possess a valid certificate (TOEFL or any English profency certificate).
  • Candidate must be resident citizens of member states of the African Union or of Commonwealth with a minimum age of 18 years old.
  • At least fulfill their high school level and have a valid diploma.

How to apply?

In fact, it is a little bit complicate to apply for this scholarship but we will try to do our best by providing you the necessary information you should know bellow:

  • All application should be done by a nominating agencies in the candidate’s country. So, candidates are require to communicate with their respective Nominating Agencies in order to know the required documents.
  • Candidates have to apply for a full time course or program on the mentioned Higher Education Institution (HEI) on the guidelines bellow and get an admission letter or acknowledgment from a Mauritian HEI that the application have been made and the application fee have be paid. Those application fee will be refunded for the successful candidate.
