KAIST Scholarships in Korea, enroll now to an undergratuate or graduate scientific program

KAIST is the first and top science and technology university in Korea. KAIST has been the gateway to advanced science and technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and KAIST’s graduates have been key players behind Korea’s innovations. KAIST will continue to pursue advances in science and technology as well as the economic development of Korea and beyond.

Today, KAIST would like to select students who meet the goal of fostering science talents that contribute to the nation and society by providing KAIST International student Scholarships for their undergraduate and graduate programs.

What does the scholarship covers?

The scholarship coverage differs for both undergraduate and graduate program but in general, it includes:

  • Full tuition fee for 4 up to 8 semesters (based on the program enrolled)
  • Living expenses: Around 300$ per months (300,000 KRW to 400,000KRW)
  • Medical Insurance
  • Additional Stipend can be available for research assistants.

Field of study:

Field of study depends on the selected program, but generally it includes:

  • Physics
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Chemistry
  • Biological Sciences
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Business and technology Management
  • And more…

Application period

There are 3 period for applying for the scholarships, namely early, regular and late period.
For each period, there is an interval of deadline, review application and decision notification.
For undergraduate scholarship, the early period will be almost over but the regular period of registration will start from November 9 2020 until January 15 2021.

Conditions and Required documents:

  • All the documents required have to be translated in Korean or English
  • Application fee of 80 dollar USD that must be paid by the applicants through credit card or bank transfer. More details on the website for graduate program. Information about the payment for undergraduate program can be found on the guideline.
  • The required document are fully listed on the official website and it is a mandatory to check it. (You can check the link on Registration and more information part below)
  • Certified English Proficiency Test Reports (TOEFL, IELTS)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Copy of Identity Document
  • Recommandation Letter: 1 for undergraduate and 2 for graduate scholarship
