Fun Bahasa Indonesia & cultural course, Batch 2 2021, an opportunity to learn Indonesian language and its culture for free!

Short Introduction about FBICC program:

The FBICC (Fun Bahasa Indonesia & cultural course) is a virtual program organized by the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Global Engagement (ITS GE) Surabaya, in Indonesia. Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is a leading university in the field of science and technology in Indonesia.

For this year 2021, starting from the month of June to August, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Global Engagement (ITS GE) in Surabaya will host a Fun Bahasa Indonesia and Cultural Course (FBICC) for all global citizens worldwide.

The previous FBICC 2021 Batch 1 initiative was a huge success, with 431 participants from 38 countries around the globe.

The course's goal is to bring Indonesian culture and language to people outside of Indonesia.

Resources include simple Indonesian language, everyday talk, Indonesia's cultural diversity, Indonesian history, survival vocabularies, and a 360-degree tour of one of the biggest city in Indonesia, Surabaya.

Benefits:

After completing the programs, participants will get a non-academic certificate that could be used as a plus for their CV especially if they plan to apply for Indonesian scholarships in the future.

Scheme of the program

  • The program will run from early June to the end of August 2021.
  • There are 12 meetings in all, including opening and closing program, as well as a mid and final examination.
  • The program will combine dialogue and an enjoyable way to learn Bahasa Indonesia.
  • The participants will be divided into small groups of 30 peoples attending one class.
  • The course will be held online using Zoom meeting platform once a week (each session will last for 90 minutes).
  • The program's language of instruction is English.

Important dates

  • Registration deadline: 22 May 2021
  • Opening of the course/ introductory program: 2 June 2021
  • Mid test: will be determined later in the class
  • Final test: will be determined later in the class

Academic regulations, terms and agreements:

  • The course is for non-Indonesia citizens.
  • The course is free of charge.
  • Participants are expected to have a good understanding of English since the language of instruction of the course is English.
  • Only participants who meet the minimum requirements of 75 percent of attendance of the total course sessions, obey class rules, and submit the given assignments and tests during the term, will get a certificate upon the completion of the course.
  • In the event of absence, participants must inform the tutors before class begins (permission as follows: illness, family matters, duties assigned, etc.).

NB:

* Since the registration link will be through google form, make sure you are using a google account during the application.

* Applicants need to have a valid WhatsApp account; this can be done by simply installing Whatsapp application and register using your phone number.
