Fully Funded Summer Exchange Program in Germany 2022 (Airfare ticket included)

Applications are now open for the DAAD summer exchange program in Germany for the academic year 2022 for international students coming from developing countries. The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst aims to improve knowledge of the German language (general and technical) as well as regional studies in Germany.

To be eligible for this program, applicants must have completed at least two years of university. The exchange course lasts 18 study days (25 hours per week). The program will run from June to November 2022. The DAAD summer exchange program is a fully-funded opportunity for all applicants; the program will cover course fees, housing expenses, and travel allowance, as well as health and accident insurance benefits. Applicants with a background in language and culture studies are strongly encouraged to apply.

Financial coverage:

  • One-time scholarship payment of 1,061 euros (1,236 euros for scholarship holders coming from least developing country).

Eligibility criteria:

  • Graduate students and students enrolled in master's degree programs in any subject are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • At the start of the scholarship period, bachelor students must have completed at least two academic years.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in College University.
  • Holding a proof of German language proficiency at the A2 level or higher.
  • Able to follow and collaborate on German-language lectures.

  • Performance record
  • Motivation letter
  • Language proficiency certificate
  • Complete CV in tabular form in German
  • Copy of degree certificate or certificate of the first year of higher education
  • Other documents that you consider important for your application if available (certificate of employment, proof of internship…).

All required documents must be translated into either English or German (uncertified form is acceptable). The DAAD Headquarters in Bonn reserves the right to request additional certified copies of the submitted documents.

Application Procedure:

  • The application submission process for the DAAD summer exchange program is online.
  • First, sign up for the DAAD portal, then download the application form, prepare the documents, and scan them (save in PDF format).
  • Upload and submit the completed application form and documents (in PDF format) to the portal.
  • The selection committee evaluates applications based on previous academic achievements and compelling motivations for choosing the applicant.
  • Please submit a complete application with all required documents by the deadline; late submissions will not be accepted.
