In 2007, the French Ministry of Research created the Network of French Institutes for Advanced Study commonly known as RFIEA Foundation, in order to support and coordinate a fellowship program called FIAS or French Institutes for Advanced Study.
The FIAS Fellowship program is designed for Masters or PHD degree holders with high research experience, and aims to develop and strengthen scholarship with mobility in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. It also provides an opportunity for outstanding postdoctoral researchers to experience one academic year (10 month) in one of the six most innovative scientific regions in France including Aix-Marseille, Loire Valley (Orléans-Tours), Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes and Paris.
